Good news! We have been awarded a £15000 grant by Garfield Weston!
That brings our total to £80000 which means we have met our target for the initial part of our project which is to make the tower watertight. Praise the Lord! It's amazing what God can do when we walk in faith. Since we know that there will be internal work to address following the drainage work - repairing stone and wood work, and removing/repairing plaster - we are going to continue fundraising, including applying for one more grant. The architect has now tendered the work to four companies which will give us up to date costings. We are praying that it hasn't gone up too much. God is good! Thank you for praying and giving. The next event on our fundraising is our History talk about Holy Trinity on Thursday 25th April 7pm. It's £5 on the door. Hope you can come! We're up to £67000, with lots of gifts and grants from Laslett's Congregational & General Trust, Coventry Diocese Warwickshire Historic Churches Benefact Our tower will fall down if we don't give it some TLC soon!
There is a lot of water coming in through the tower roof causing damage and it is going to cost a lot of money to make it watertight and improve the drainage. To see the plans see our Tower Appeal Page. We will need to raise something in the region of £80,000! (It's gone up as we have received a new more detailed quote.)
